Birders’ Digest – Vol. 5

Just a quick wrap-up of the last few birds we saw in Australia before boarding our flight to Thailand! Not many interesting facts this time, but we did discover that the brahminy kite has very weak feet, so they can’t claim large prey, and spend most of their time scavenging dead animals, or eating smaller prey like fish (which it frequently steals from other birds) and insects.

Also, one of our AirBnb hosts tossed a few cut-up bits of meat for the drongos, who were phonemically accurate at snatching them out of mid-air.
